Welcome to Framo ("the App"). This Privacy Policy applies to Framo and explains how we handle information involved when you use the App. Developer / personal information processor details can be found in the "Contact Us" section below.
Framo processes photo content locally on your device. Except for the system interactions necessary to let you choose photos, save photos, store local preferences, and use Apple's in-app purchase features, we do not upload your photos, edited content, exported results, or preference settings to our servers, and we do not sell, rent, or provide this information to third parties for advertising, analytics, or profiling.
1. Information We Handle
1.1 Photos and Photo Library Permissions
The App requests the following iOS permissions as needed for its features:
- Photo Library access (`NSPhotoLibraryUsageDescription`): used to browse, select, and import photos you choose to edit within the App. Depending on iOS options, you may grant full access or limited access.
- Photo Library add access (`NSPhotoLibraryAddUsageDescription`): used to save edited photos to your system photo library when you choose to export them.
The photos you select are primarily read, rendered, framed, exported, and shared locally on your device. If the original photos are stored in iCloud Photos, iOS may download them to your device through Apple's system services so your requested viewing or editing action can be completed. That process is provided and managed by Apple.
1.2 Photo Metadata and Image Properties
To display your photo library in the App and correctly complete editing, sorting, and export, Framo reads necessary system information and image properties related to selected photos, such as asset identifiers, creation time (for sorting), pixel dimensions, and orientation information.
Framo does not upload that information to developer-controlled servers and does not use photo location, capture time, or other metadata for advertising, profiling, or analytics. Exported images are newly rendered files, and the current version generally does not preserve the original photo's full EXIF metadata, location data, or photo library linkage.
1.3 Local Preference Settings
To provide normal functionality and a better user experience, the App stores certain preference settings locally on your device, such as:
- App language
- Appearance mode (for example, light mode, dark mode, or follow system)
- Default editor settings
- Saved style presets
This information is stored using local storage mechanisms provided by iOS for App functionality and is not uploaded to our servers.
1.4 In-App Purchase Related Information
The App may offer subscriptions or one-time unlock purchases. The related purchase, payment, restore, and transaction verification flows are handled through Apple's App Store / StoreKit system.
Within the App, we may read information related to your purchase status in order to determine whether the corresponding paid features should be unlocked for you. However, we do not directly obtain your full payment card details, payment account details, or similar complete payment information, and we do not upload purchase receipts to our own servers for separate verification. Payment information is handled by Apple. If Apple processes related data within its systems, that processing is governed by Apple's own privacy policy and terms.
2. How We Use This Information
We use the information above only to the extent necessary to provide the App's core functionality, including:
- Letting you choose photos to edit
- Generating and exporting edited results locally on your device
- Saving exported results to your system photo library or using them for sharing when you request it
- Saving your interface and editing preferences
- Displaying your photo library in the App and sorting photos by creation time
- Restoring or recognizing purchases you completed through Apple in order to provide the corresponding paid features
3. How We Do Not Use Your Information
Framo does not:
- Upload your photos, edited results, exported files, or preference settings to our servers
- Sell, rent, or share your personal information with ad networks, data brokers, or other third parties for marketing
- Use advertising identifiers or similar technologies to track you across apps or websites
- Provide your photos, edited results, preferences, or purchase status to analytics providers, ad networks, third-party profiling services, third-party SDKs, or other external data processors
4. Sharing and Disclosure
Except as described in this section, Framo does not proactively sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties. Some App features depend on Apple-provided system frameworks and infrastructure, and the following situations may involve necessary data handling outside the App itself:
- When you explicitly use App features that rely on iOS system frameworks or Apple infrastructure, such as accessing the photo library, saving images, making in-app purchases, restoring purchases, managing subscriptions, or presenting the system share sheet
- When you choose to use the system sharing function to send exported content to a third-party app, contact, or platform
- When disclosure is required by applicable laws, regulations, court orders, or lawful government requests
If you use the system sharing function to send exported content to a third-party app, contact, or platform, any further processing by that third party will be governed by its own privacy policy. Framo does not share user data with analytics providers, ad networks, third-party SDKs, or other external processors. If we later need to use an external processor because the App changes, we will update this Privacy Policy first and work only with processors that provide the same or a higher level of protection.
5. Data Retention and Deletion
Different categories of information are retained as follows:
- Local preference settings: stored locally on your device and typically removed when you delete the App, clear local data, or reset your device
- Temporary files created during export: actively cleaned up by the App after sharing or saving is completed, or removed by iOS under its temporary directory management mechanisms
- Photos you choose to save to the system photo library: remain in your photo library until you delete them yourself in the Photos app or iCloud Photos
- Purchase and subscription records: stored and managed by Apple according to Apple's own rules; if you need to manage subscriptions, you can do so through your Apple ID subscription settings
- Support communications you voluntarily send to the developer by email: may be retained in email systems to handle support, refund, complaint, or deletion requests, and deleted when no longer needed or no longer required by law
Other than necessary support communications, Framo does not ordinarily retain photos, edited results, preference settings, purchase receipts, or exported files on developer-controlled servers.
If you want to withdraw the App's access to your photo library, you can change that in Settings on your iPhone or iPad. If you want to delete photos previously saved to your system photo library, please delete them directly in the Photos app. If you want us to delete any identifiable records that may exist on the developer side, please email [email protected]; we will verify whether such data exists and process your deletion request where applicable.
6. Your Rights and Choices
You can manage your privacy at any time in the following ways:
- Grant, limit, or revoke the App's access to your photo library in iOS Settings
- Choose to grant limited photo library access instead of full access
- Delete content stored locally by the App, for example by uninstalling the App
- Delete exported photos you saved to your system photo library
- Manage or cancel subscriptions through Apple's subscription management interface
- Request deletion of developer-side support communications or other identifiable records by contacting [email protected]
If you revoke relevant permissions, some features may no longer work properly, such as browsing photos, importing photos, or saving edited results directly to your system photo library.
7. Children
If you are considered a minor under applicable law, please read and use the App under the guidance of your parent or legal guardian.
8. Updates to This Privacy Policy
If the App's features, data handling practices, third-party services, or applicable legal requirements change, we may update this Privacy Policy. The updated version will be made available in an appropriate manner and will take effect on the date it is published.
